My dearest rakes and roustabouts, What are you doing this summer? For all you new folk who are shyly looking into the board every now and again trying to figure out when would be a good time to speak up, this would be it! For all you old folk who are off doing incredible, quirky, or maybe even just your straight up cubicle-desk-job-while-living-a-secret-life-as-a-circus-freak, let us know! My life as of late consists mainly of the following: -Eating oatmeal -Calling Tara "Firefly" -Hanging upside down by my knees and grunting furiously until there is some semblance of a swing happening -Holding small and not-so-small children over the edge of a pedestal so they can conquer their fear and go fly on the trapeze (ie: being a trapeze instructor) -Flying -Speaking in accents: some bad, some passable -Hanging out in the woods -Watching movies -Writing to a friend who's deployed somewhere in the world -Dancing like a lunatic while 12 year olds awkwardly bop around me And so on. But now I'm going to engage in the oatmeal part of my summer. Let me know what you're up to! What are you learning? Have you found a new passion? Have you just spent the last month on the computer?

Oh, Victoria. Life sounds like fun for you. Hahaa.
My life consists of: -Playing Mommy/Teacher/Nurse/Playmate to a bunch of ten-year-old girls every weekday (from (9:00 AM Monday to 3:00 PM Friday...oh, camp counseling). -Lots and lots of tea (this is a good thing). -Making lots of arts and crafts (probably too many). -Learning how to do new things (use a pottery wheel, make friendship bracelets, knit....). -Browsing the internet for...antique postcards, espadrilles, random things on my mind. -Writing letters to James...in addition to talking with him every night via Skype. -Cuddling with Murry, the stuffed hedgehog. -Dressing in crazy outfits, often including face paint, at least twice a week. -Being ridiculously overtired.
And tonight, I'm going to circus with some kiddies! I'm mostly going to play games with them since apparently, I'm not allowed to do partner acro with them...for whatever reason. Apparently it's too dangerous, even on mats?
Also, one of my co-counselors is kind of fascinated with the fact that I'm in circus. She and I have done a few acro things together (not well, since both of us are used to flying; she's a cheerleader), and she really wants to try and visit us for a day. I would be excited if that could happen, though I'm not sure of the feasibility (she's still in high school and she lives in Westchester, so getting to Amherst might be difficult). Anyway, just thought I'd let you know that someone thinks what we do is ridiculously cool (aside from ourselves, of course).
Oh, another thing I seem to be doing a lot lately is using parenthetical statements. Yeah. =D
