Nimble Arts Studio in Brattleboro Vermont is willing to set up contortion lessons for a group of 4-5 for $75 a lesson... a really, really good price.
If you're interested, post here! I think a once/twice month carpool up would be a really cool way to make it so that people can learn how to stretch properly, do new tricks, and get more flexible w/out getting hurt...
Their email is: info@nimblearts.org

Okay, Saturday any time is fine with me. So I can go with majority. I do walk a dog at 1pm everyday, so when we figure out the day, I'd really like to know as soon as possible just so I can tell the dog owners that I won't be walking the dog that day. That's it. And, I'm pretty sure somehow getting a car ride would be cheaper than the bus anyway. Seems to be how it generally works (and not to mention faster). Anyway, hope people can work out their schedules. ^_^

sounds great! Saterdays are fine for the most part. I work alternating sat mornings from like 9 - 2pm, but i am free after that. I can let you know which sats i work and we could possibly just pick the other ones. In other words, every other sat, i am completely free. Horray contortion! -Meggie p.s. I dont really have access to a car

I'm interested but I have gymnastics at 3:45 on saturdays... and I have gigs on fridays sometimes which means I'm super tired when all is said and done... so I'd be really happy with something that will get us back to hampshire at 3 - 3:30 ish and not much earlier. And I also have fairly good access to cars (lots of my friends have cars and I borrow them all the time... so I'm sure if it's twice a month they won't have a problem) and i'm also really bad at directions so i will always need a navigator. but thats the fine details.

I'm going to be doing gymnastics too so I'll have the same issue.

Here's what's been sent back & forth: ------------- Hello!
Some members of Circus Folk Unite, the student & community circus arts collective at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA, would like to arrange a group contortion training session for once or twice a month, if possible. There are 4-5 people interested. How much would a session cost? What do you suggest it should involve?
Thanks for your help!
--------- Hello -
For a group lesson with that number of students you would be at $75 p/ hr. If you have anymore than that it would involve an additional instructor which would increase the price. It is hard to answer what the lesson would include without knowing what level of training and skills you are at. Please let me know what you are looking for from a private lesson and I will arrange a lesson time from there with an appropriate instructor.
Thanks Mark
--------------- Hello again!
We have very diverse backgrounds and skill levels - everything from Circus Smirkus to martial arts to natural flexibility with no training. We'd be looking for advice and assistance with stretching safely (for back and leg flexibility especially), working toward creating individual (or even small group) routines/acts.
The best time slot for us is Saturday at 1pm. Does that time work at all? Perhaps we can set up a trial/assessment lesson for next week or the week after, then take it from there...
Thanks for your help!
