August 12-14th, Normal Illinois
Three days of workshops, training, panels - all about circus, teaching circus to kids, doing circus as youth, skill disciplines, safety, etc. It sound absolutely incredible. And the AYCO is basically the ONLY american circus organization of any kind, so this is really *the* way to network.
But it's going to cost a bit. Youth (up to 21) ticket $125 + $25 membership fee. Also, all youth groups need to be accompanied by one a (25 and older) 'chaperone,' who doesn't pay to get in, but does need to pay a $50 membership fee.
I have no idea about accomodation and travel. It would be great to be represented and to see everything that's going on, but I don't know yet if I'll have the money. AND it only happens once every two years, so the next one'll be after I graduate!
